Meet Molly

Hi. I'm Molly.

I am twenty-something, a wife of 6 years, a mother of two (soon to be three), and a recovering failure at making sugar cookies. After my second child was born, I decided to leave work in the child advocacy/public policy world and stay home while my husband provides enough money for me to maintain my obsession with good, real foods...and the occasional Swiss Cake Roll. And as you may have found out, I am a stay-at-home mom. Don't call me a housewife.

I love working with my hands and see the value of doing things myself. I sew because my grandmother taught me to, and I bake because rolling out dough has bested me for too many years. I love to learn new skills and struggle to care about perfecting them. I must live near water or I think I would just shrivel up like a raisin.

And because you asked, I am an ENFP of the Meyers-Briggs persuasion. I love brussel sprouts and Hawaii Five-0. I care what people think and I love to love myself. I laugh a lot, especially at myself, and know that life is too short to care if anyone else thinks I'm funny.

I started writing Domestic Disarray in an effort to maintain my sanity while maintaining some control over the chaos that seems to spread through my house like a virus. Our house is filled with two - some would say messy - adults, two young children, two cats, and a dog. All of those creatures seem to conspire to keep our house in a continuous state of disarray, despite my - and my amazing husband's - best efforts to the contrary. Thanks for stopping by - I hope that you might find something here to encourage you on your own journey to good enough.
